Women Empowerment

Towards the women empowerment JMJ SSS has taken initiation to form women into SELF HELP GROUPS so as to make them economically self reliant and be a decision maker in the society. Under this program 500 women are directly deriving the benefits.

The women are specially from daily labour class, house wives, and poor economic back ground. Each group consists of 10 to 15 women. We have a regular meeting once in a month for every group. Women are trained to save Rs.100/- per month in their small saving account managed by themselves in the group with the help of a group leader. They take micro loan from the group savings for example of INR.10000/- to Rs. 15000/- @ INR.1/- interest to do small business like fruit and vegetable vending, tailoring, petty shops, goat raring, beautician, running small hotel, preparation of disposable plate & Dona & Masala Making etc. The money taken in loan from the group savings is paid back to the group & the fund keeps rotating among the members in the group. At the maturity date the interest amount is equally distributed among the members with their total monthly savings.

Through Self Help Group we also conduct other non formal education like:-

1. Training on self employment skills – production of phenoyl, detergent, candle, hand wash & liquid sanitizers etc.
2. Leadership Training
3. Health and Hygiene
4. Awareness on different Government schemes
5. Women and Child Rights
6. Celebration of Women's Day
7. Environment protection
8. Celebration of Women's Day
9. Solidarity
10. Information and discussion on women atrocity and legal issues.
11. Gender equality etc.
