Origin of the Congregation:

The Congregation of Jesus Mary Joseph is one of the International Congregations of the Roman Catholic Church, founded by Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolff, S.J in the year 1822 in Holland with a view to furthering the cause of women education. Seven Dutch JMJ missionary sisters reached to India in 1904 at Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. At present we have four provinces in India namely Guntur, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Raipur. The Congregation has above 100 units working in different parts of India, through the ministry of Health care, Education, Social work and Pastoral & Evangelization.

Who we are:

We are Sisters of the Congregation of Jesus Mary Joseph (JMJ) called by the Spirit to cross-frontiers of culture, language and belief, living in International Communities to carry out the mission of Christ by our apostolic work. We live the spirit & charism of our Founder Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolff S.J, "An Ever Adaptable Apostolic Availability" which dispose us to dedicate ourselves to education, health care, social and pastoral ministries in accordance with the signs of the times to liberate and build up a better society. Our mission spreads across Italy, West Africa, Netherlands, Indonesia, Australia, USA, Nepal and India.
